Wicker Park Green Music Fest 6.21-6.22

Wicker Park Green Music Fest

Wicker Park Green Music Fest

One part music, one part eco-living is the recipe behind the annual Wicker Park Green Music Fest. For a sixth consecutive year, Wicker Park Green Music Fest will rock Chicagoans into making environmentally-conscious choices in their lives this summer. As always, heart-pounding live music is the highlight of the weekend, and this year’s new ‘pedal powered’ stage has raised the bar. Besides cyclists providing the natural wattage for the music, this unique Chicago street festival pairs culturally relevant musical performances alongside vendors championing green business practices, with demonstrations, arts & crafts and family activities – all wrapped up into one summer weekend, Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 (location info listed under ‘fine print’ section).

By embracing established and emerging green technology, products, and services, Wicker Park Green Music Fest’s 2014 mission encompasses an accessible community with cutting-edge programming, engaged and informed citizens, and sustainable lifestyles.

The Green Music:
First and foremost, Wicker Park Green Music Fest is at its core, a music festival. Two stages programmed by Wicker Park’s own Subterranean feature non-stop live music all weekend, with everything from cutting-edge local groups to national touring headliners like Moon Taxi and Guided By Voices, who have recorded six high-quality full-length albums in less than four years. If the sorry state of the present day indie- alt- or just plain rock landscape is the disease, groups like Guided By Voices is the cure. The full weekend music lineup is as follows:
