Rock Bottom

St. Patrick’s Day Parties
Saturday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 17 from 11-2AM

Once just isn’t enough for a proper St. Patrick’s Day party, so Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery in River North will be giving revelers three chances to get their Irish up. >From 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, Rock Bottom will host a Pre-Parade Party to help kick off the 2011 Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will step off at Balbo and Columbus drives at noon.

This “drink local” event will eschew green brew in favor of Rock Bottom’s famously tasty handcrafted beers. The “Kegs and Eggs” Pre-Parade Party will offer those heading to the nearby parade a filling breakfast buffet featuring scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, bacon, baked potato hash, muffins, bagels and more, all served alongside several Rock Bottom brews. The cost for Rock Bottom’s “Kegs and Eggs” Pre-Parade Party is $20 per person (excluding tax and gratuity).

Rock Bottom’s pre-St. Paddy’s soiree will continue throughout the day and well into the night, as the restaurant is open from 11-2 a.m. daily. (There will be no cover charge after 11 a.m. on Saturday.) Emerald Isle-inspired menu items such as bangers and mash ($9.95) and juicy corned beef sandwiches ($7 each), along with drink specials including $5 shots of Jameson, $6 Irish Car Bombs and $4 pints of Rock Bottom’s own Irish Red Ale, will put everyone in the St. Patrick’s spirit. Live music will also help set the vibe throughout the festivities, including Irish acoustic tunes from One of the Girls, playing upstairs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., as well as Tanglewood performing downstairs from 3-6 p.m.

If that’s not enough shamrockin’ for you, the restaurant will celebrate all over again on St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, March 17, with the same food and drink specials served throughout the day and night. Hopefully, Chicago’s weather will have the luck of the Irish on its side this year, because Rock Bottom will open its wildly popular rooftop on both Saturday and Wednesday (weather permitting).
