October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – the perfect time to wine and dine for a good cause. The Lynn Sage Foundation, a Chicago-based organization committed to finding a cure for breast cancer, will partner with over 150 Chicagoland restaurants in October to help raise money for In Good Taste: A Breast Cancer Research Initiative. Eleven of the participating establishments include: La Madia; Firecakes Donuts; Stout Barrel House & Galley; Epic; Taco Joint; Standard Market Grill; Standard Market; Bakersfield; Quince; Cactus Bar & Grill; and Franklin Tap. La Madia will donate $1 from every dessert purchased during October.

Stout will donate 50 cents from every pink Moscow Mule sold during the month of October (Tito’s vodka, lime juice, ginger beer and orange bitters served in a copper mug, $12) On average, Stout sells anywhere from 2,500-3,000 Moscow Mules per month!

Epic’s Pastry Chef Jessica Ellington will feature “In Good Taste Cheesecake” during the month of October: Mascarpone Cheesecake, Almond-Pine Nut Crust, Poached Pear, Dolcetto Ice Cream, $12. Two dollars from every dessert sold will benefit the In Good Taste campaign.

Taco Joint 
Taco Joint in River North and Lincoln Park will offer an “In Good Taste Taco” Chicken Pibil – citrus-annatto braised chicken thigh, habanero salsa, pink pickled onions, $3. Both restaurants will also feature a Maestro Dobel Pink Tequila Cocktail for $10. $1 from every “In Good Taste Taco” and “Pink Tequila Cocktail” sold in October will benefit In Good Taste.

Cactus Bar & Grill will offer a Pink Pomegranate Margarita (Cactus’ classic margarita combined with pomegranate puree and Pama liqueur). The margarita is served frozen or on the rocks with a sugar rim and lime wedge (12oz – $7; 16 oz – $9; Rocks pitcher – $27). A portion of the proceeds will benefit In Good Taste.
