Timothy O’Toole’s Pub in Streeterville will kick-off the Halloween holiday with their eleventh annual pumpkin carving contest on Thursday, October 30 at 7 p.m. O’Toole’s will provide the pumpkins and carving materials, while carvers simply come with creative ideas. Prizes and bragging rights will be awarded to the top three pumpkin artists ($50 cash; $25 O’Toole’s gift card; t-shirt). 

The next night, Friday, October 31, Timothy O’Toole’s will hold their annual Halloween costume party with a $250 cash prize for the best dressed guest. “Spooky” cocktails will be offered, a DJ will spin party tunes starting at 10 p.m., and the costume judging will take place at midnight. 

Both events are free to attend.

Beginning at 7 p.m., competing carvers may enjoy $10 pitchers of Miller Lite and $4.50 Absolut cocktails while preparing their ghostly gourd.  O’Toole’s will provide the pumpkins and carving materials, while carvers simply come with creative ideas. Prizes (and bragging rights) will be awarded to the top pumpkin creators. This event is free to attend.

Top Design Wins Dinner for Two!

When: Thursday, October 27

$10 per person

Sip sultry, seasonal cocktails while carving farm-fresh pumpkins at Elate’s pre-Halloween, hands-on affair. Starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, participants will pick their pre-prepped pumpkin (no scooping needed) and set their space with the provided design tools. As the carving continues, guests will enjoy Chef Noll’s complimentary roasted pumpkin seeds and other festive Halloween treats.

Elate’s pumpkin martinis will perfectly pair with the pumpkin-theme party ($8). The full dinner menu will be available, including flatbreads and other small plate, sharable dishes.

The fee to enter is $10. The top pumpkin design will win a gift certificate for dinner for two at Elate.
