Halloween Headquarters At HomeGoods Michigan Avenue

With Halloween right around the corner, time’s running out to get your decoration on. HomeGoods on Michigan Avenue has a wide variety of Halloween decor to make your perfect haunted house. 1) Let there be glitter — Glitter is the word to describe Halloween decor this season. From glittered pumpkins, garland, haunted houses, ghouls and goblins – HomeGoods has plenty of sparkly items to meet your glitter quota until Christmas.

2) Painted pumpkins — Carving is out, painting is in! We can’t all be Martha Stewart and hand painting pumpkins isn’t always an option when you need decorations on the fly. Painted pumpkins can be expensive and sometimes hard to find. At HomeGoods, I found numerous painted pumpkins in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

3) Purple is the new orange — This Halloween, purple is making a major appearance. If you’re tired of the traditional orange and black Halloween decorations, purple is a trendy alternative. HomeGoods has quite a few purple pumpkins, pillows and haunted houses in this non-traditional Halloween hue.

HomeGoods Michigan Avenue is located at 600 N. Michigan Avenue / Chicago, IL 60611.

The spirit of Halloween (and the spirit of giving) will take over the Financial District on Friday, October 28. Cactus Bar and Grill will hold an all-day celebration fromย 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. that benefits The Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Before Halloween was associated with candies and costumes, people once gave food to the poor on behalf of dead souls on Halloween. Cactus Bar and Grill will combine that old tradition with today’s way of feting the holiday – killer drink specials, spooktacular costumes, raffles, giveaways and to-die-for dishes.Drink specials for the night include $2 jello shots inย festive flavorsย (candy apple, candy cider, orange and black liquorish) and $4 Blue Moon Winter Ale pints.ย Costumes are encouraged, as the Cactus Bar and Grill staff will be dressed to the nines.

Guests who bring in a canned good for The Greater Chicago Food Depository will receive a complimentary appetizer (menu listed below). Cash donations (purchase a paper pumpkin with your name on it) will also be accepted.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicagoโ€™s food bank, is a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year.
