Located on North Avenue Beach, Castaways will open to the public this Memorial Day weekend with live entertainment Saturday through Monday and will serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (weather permitting). Menu items include fresh salads, wraps, sandwiches, and quesadillas accompanied by frozen cocktails and even Corona in a can (No bottles on the beach).

Private party space is available which can accommodate up to 400 people–perfect for corporate outings and special events. Castaways now offers Cabanas available for rent daily through Labor Day. The two cabanas are located on the North end of the Castaways upper deck with a capacity of 10 – 12 people (max) each. The cabanas are available for rent from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. ($1500 F&B minimum).

Over the past decade, interior designer Michael Del Piero has created a distinctive aesthetic that fuses rough with luxurious and ancient with modern. With her easygoing trademark flair, Michael will present a Rustically Refined “Living Tablescape” just in time for outdoor entertaining season! Chicago Craft Beer Week 312 & Lagunitas 5.20

The Italian loop mainstay, 312 Chicago, has teamed up with Lagunitas Brewing Company to host a special “patio a-beer-itivo hour”on Tuesday, May 20. A play on Aperitivo Hour, a traditional Italian dining ritual, 312 Chicago’s event feature salty finger foods prepared by Executive Chef Luca Corazzina as well as a Lagunitas rep doling out four samples of the craft beer, including: Pils, Censored, DayTime and Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’. Chicago Craft Beer Week With South Water Kitchen & Ale Syndicate 5.15-5.16

South Water Kitchen has teamed up with local craft brewery, Ale Syndicate, to celebrate CCBW this year. Head Bartender & Certified Cicerone, Dan Rook, will use an Ale Syndicate Randall to infuse Municipal IPA with different fruit on Thursday (5/15) and Friday (5/16), which will be offered as a special each day. Pizza Rustica will host “It’s Time for a Crabbie’s Night” featuring Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer, the 4.8% ABV refreshing ginger beer – only for grown-ups. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy complimentary tastings of the already popular Original and will be introduced to the newest flavor, Spiced Orange. Pizza Rustica mixologists will craft a variety of Crabbie’s cocktails such as: Dark & Stormy, Original with choice of Dark Rum; Brown & Stormy, Original with choice of Bourbon; Foghorn, Original with choice of Gin; Moscow Mule, Original with choice of vodka; Mexican Mule, Original with Espolòn Bianco; the Spiced Mule, Original and Aquavit Private Reserve; and two new cocktails created for the Spiced Orange launch: the Spiced Rye, Spiced Orange with Bulleit Rye, Balsamic Syrup, Muddled Orange and Ginger; and the Spiced Berry; Spiced Orange, Tito’s Vodka, Fresh Puréed Strawberries, Fresh Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup.
