New Modern Mexican Dishes in River North

Cantina Laredo, featuring modern Mexican cuisine River North, recently launched new lunch, dinner and brunch menus. Chef de Cuisine Kennon Reed’s new dishes include: Tacos de Costillas (slow-roasted short rib with tomatillo sauce, monterey jack cheese, roasted red peppers and queso fresco); Pollo Mango Mole (grilled chicken with mango mole sauce and toasted pine nuts); Costillas con Fajita (ribs basted in Jose Cuervo tequila barbecue sauce with beef and chicken fajitas); Tacos de Hongos (grilled portobello mushrooms in balsamic glaze with goat cheese, roasted red pepper and queso fresco; and Torta de Costillas (griddle baked sandwich with slow-roasted short rib, apple-jicama slaw, jalapenos and black beans).

Cantina Laredo’s bar menu offers unique specialty cocktails prepared with hand-squeezed ingredients, including Seasonal Sorbet Rum ‘Ritas (Blood Orange; Mango Citrus; Raspberry Chipotle), Signature Margaritas (Casa Rita; Cabo Flip; Ginger Mint Mango), Mojitos, Palomas and more. An extensive tequila list, Mexican beers and worldly wines are also available.

Cantina Laredo is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner is served nightly from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sundaythrough Thursday, and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Weekend brunch is offered Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All brunch entrees include a mimosa, Bloody Maria or non-alcoholic beverage. Cantina Laredo’s small plates lounge menu (second floor) is featured at half-price, Monday-Friday from 4-7 p.m.
