Learn how to make creative Latin libations at Nacional 27. On Thursday, August 28, beverage manager Elyse Fuller will lead participants through a daiquiri making class, featuring three different versions of the popular rum cocktail (classic; strawberry-rhubarb and pineapple habanero ginger).

The class starts at 6 p.m. and the fee to participate is $15 per person, which includes instruction, cocktail sampling, passed tapas (tostones; chicken empanadas; BBQ lamb tacos) and recipe cards to take home. To sign up for the class, please visit N27Chicago.com.

INFORMATION: The North Damen Avenue shopping district of Bucktown is pleased to announce a neighborhood-wide event, The Second Annual Bucktown Summer Soiree, to showcase the area’s unique range of shops, services, and cuisine. Located on Damen Avenue between Webster and the Bloomingdale Trail Bridge, Bucktown is populated with an exciting collective of independently owned boutiques, salons, and eateries.

High Noon Saloon, which normally opens at 4 p.m. on weekdays, opens at 11 a.m. Monday, September 1 for Labor Day brunch service and offers all days drink deals such as $4 Half Acre drafts, $3 Old Crow bourbon whiskey shots, $3 Casa Noble tequila blanco shots, $5 bloody marys and $3 mimosas.  Monday night team trivia, which is hosted by High Noon Saloon and Whaddayaknow Free Pub Trivia Chicago, starts at 8 p.m. with prizes for the top teams and no fee to play. Brunch is served from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., the regular menu is on offer from 11 a.m.-1 a.m., and the bar is open until 2 a.m. September 1.

Lottie’s Pub will celebrate National Dog Day on Tuesday, August 26 with a party from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests who visit Lottie’s with their pooch will enjoy all day specials like:


$3.50 summer pints and $4 Jameson, and $3 Chicago Dogs (100 percent of proceeds will go to the Anti-Cruelty Society) available from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. only.

The event will feature a grooming station with $10 nail clippings from SpaBARK (proceeds will go to the Anti-Cruelty Society), onsite vets from Family Pet Hospital who will be available for questions, and the Anti-Cruelty Society which will provide lists of dogs available for adoption.
