Celebrate the Harvest Season with Six Days of Festivities

Tuesday, October 7 – Sunday, October 12

Park Grill and The Plaza at Millennium Park will hold a six day “Fall Fest” this October. From Tuesday, October 7 to Sunday, October 12, the restaurant will celebrate the season with a Fall Harvest Menu; live, outdoor musical performances; and the second annual local brewers’ Harvest HopDown. Fall Fest will commence with a Chicago Marathon Pasta Dinner and an alfresco Chicago Marathon breakfast buffet and viewing party.

Fall Harvest Menu: Tuesday, October 7 – Sunday, October 12
Newly appointed Executive Chef Jared Case will offer a Fall Harvest Menu that features items sourced from local farms, purveyors and brewers.

Live Music on The Plaza: Thursday, October 9 and Friday, October 10
The Plaza at Millennium Park will play host to live musical performances by Jazz Perspectives, featuring The Sean Skyler Duo and The Phil Seed Trio. The concerts will take place from 5-8 p.m.

Harvest HopDown: Friday, October 10
The second annual Harvest HopDown will take place on The Plaza on Friday, October 10 from 5-8 p.m. Local brewers will compete for the title of Harvest HopDown “Favorite,” as selected by participating guests. Competing brewers include: Goose Island: Rambler Limited release IPA and Oktoberfest (Chicago); Summit Oktoberfest (Minneapolis, MN); Central Waters Octoberfest (Amherst, WI); Virtue Cider (Fennville, MI); Milwaukee Brewing Hoptoberfest & Sasquash (Milwaukeee, WI); Upland Oktoberfest (Indianapolis, IN); Tallgrass Zombie Monkie Porter (Manhattan, KS); Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat (St. Louis, MO); Johnny Appleseed Cider (St. Louis, MO); and returning winner, Pipeworks Brewing Seasonal Brews (Chicago, IL). Bank of America Chicago Marathon Pasta Dinner: Saturday, October 11
Carb up before the big run at Park Grill’s pasta dinner. The evening will include a pasta buffet with four selections, a build-your-own pasta station, two salads, dessert and choice of Goose Island beer or The Naked Grape wine. Seatings will be offered at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and the fee is $35 per guest. Chef Case’s buffet menu will feature butter lettuce salad; caesar salad; smoked gouda mac and cheese cavatappi; roasted vegetarian pasta with marinara; mushroom tortellini with truffle alfredo; gnocchi bolognese grana padano; assorted miniature desserts and much more. Chicago Marathon Breakfast and Viewing Party: Sunday, October 12
Enjoy breakfast beneath the bean on Marathon morning. From 8-11 a.m.,
start your race day with a lovely breakfast buffet in the heart of Millennium Park. The menu includes yogurt and granola; honey and mint fruit salad; croissants; mini banana nut muffins; bagels and toppings; Nancy’s apple chicken sausage; parmesan breakfast potatoes; chilaquiles with salsa verde and queso fresco; skillet scrambled eggs with scallions; and cinnamon roll waffles with cream cheese frosting. Attention Chicago Bears ticket holders! Skip the expensive stadium parking and hop on Timothy O’Toole’s Bears Bus for convenient and fun, round trip transportation to Soldier Field. For all regular season home games, The Monster’s of the Midway shuttle bus leaves Timothy O’Toole’s Pub in Streeterville one hour and fifteen minutes before kick-off. A $10 fee includes beverages on the bus.

Football Fans Receive Free Parking and Free Transportation

Bears Home Game Days: August 8 – December 21​
Cactus Opens at 10 a.m.

Bears season is upon us! Cactus Bar and Grill, located in the Loop, offers game day ticket holders (or anyone that wants to get closer to the action) complimentary transportation to and from Soldier Field on the Cactus shuttle bus. Continuous, round-trip bus service will be available 90 minutes before the game starts until 60 minutes after the game ends. As an added game day deal, free parking will be offered to all football fans (with any $25 purchase) at the Traders Park Garage, 326 South Wells.

Don’t have tickets to the game? Cactus Bar and Grill features NFL Ticket and all games will be shown on ten, 42-inch screens and two, 10-foot projection screens. There is not a bad seat in the house to view home and away game action. In addition to Chef Glenn Pistario’s full menu, Cactus’ Sunday football specials include

​$18 Miller Lite Buckets (5 bottles), $7 Half-pound Burger with side, and $5 Bloody Marys. ​

Public transportation ​​riders can easily arrive at Cactus via ​Metra (​Cactus is two blocks from the LaSalle Station, three blocks from Union Station and six blocks from Ogilvie ​) or the El’s LaSalle station (Blue, Orange, Red, Purple and Brown lines).

Collegiate ball is back, and Stout Barrel House and Galley is ready to welcome Wisconsin Badger fans for Saturday football. The River North restaurant and bar will show every game with sound while a DJ spins music and the fight song during commercial breaks and half-time.

The official Wisconsin bar has a bevy of “Super Saturday” game day specials: Badger “drinking glove” with souvenir mug ($10); brat trio with potato salad ($5); basket of cheese curds ($5); 22-ounce Miller Lite drafts ($6); 22-ounce bloody marys ($8); shots of Jameson ($5); shots of SoCo Lime ($5). The Badger mugs may be brought back on Saturdays for $5 refills.

Stout Barrel House and Galley’s weekend brunch menu features such items as Nutella & Peanut Butter Pancakes, Biscuits & Gravy, Chilaquiles, Breakfast Pizza, Steak and Eggs, Red Velvet Waffles, and more. A bloody mary bar, specialty mimosas, craftails (Pineapple Recovery Punch; Fresh Fruit Collins), breakfast beer fix drinks (Hop Dream; Morning Fog) and craft brews are also available. The weekend brunch menu and the lunch menu (bar bites, salads, flatbreads, handhelds) are served from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
