The Fourth Annual Turkey Testicle Festival and Pumpkin Pie eating competition at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub will take place on Black Wednesday, November 27. The turkey testicle eating contest will be held at 9 p.m., and the winner will receive a whole frozen turkey to prepare for their own Thanksgiving Day feast. For those who are less daring but still willing to compete, the Pub will hold a pumpkin pie eating contest at 11 p.m., with the winner receiving a $25 gift certificate. Need liquid courage to compete? Black Wednesday’s drink specials will include $5 Jameson shots and $3 pints of Miller Lite and Coors Light. To enter the eating competition, simply show up at O’Toole’s and register before 9 p.m.

On Black Wednesday (11/27) as well as Thanksgiving Day (11/28), a bevy of appropriately themed menu specials will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The specials, outlined below, include a traditional Thanksgiving dinner plate, an open faced hot turkey sandwich, a turkey panini, and a “bucket of balls” (deep fried turkey testicles served with choice of dipping sauce). To finish, enjoy a slice of pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream.

Families can gather around the warm and welcoming tables at Weber Grill this year as the restaurants’ chefs and grilling experts take Thanksgiving dinner under their wing. On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, Weber Grill will open its doors all-day for a coursed ‘Fire-Grilled Thanksgiving Feast’ in addition to its regular dinner menu plus ‘Thanksgiving Party Platters To-Go’ for those celebrating at home.

If Thanksgiving is best celebrated at home, but not necessarily in the kitchen, Weber Grill will be offering ‘Thanksgiving Party Platters To-Go’ making entertaining as easy as pie. Each beautifully prepared platter serves 8-10 people including choices like the Harvest Salad or Shrimp Cocktail plus festive classics from Grill-Roasted Smoked Turkey and Beef Tenderloin to Cornbread with Maple Bourbon Butter, Sausage Stuffing and Grill Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Desserts include 10” Chocolate Espresso Pecan Pie or Classic Pumpkin Pie.

Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013. Hours include 12:00pm-8:00pm in Lombard, Schaumburg and Indianapolis and 11:00am-11:00pm in Chicago. Thanksgiving Platter orders must be placed by Monday, November 25 before noon. The Thanksgiving Feast Menu is priced at $28.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 10 and under. Thanksgiving Platters are a la carte and prices range from $11.95 to $199.95.
