Santa Paws At Hotel Allegro 12.8-12.9

Here comes Santa Paws! For the fourth year in a row, Kimpton Hotels of Chicago will host Santa Paws, a weekend-long event where neighborhood pets and four-legged hotel companions are invited for holiday treats and photos with Santa. This year’s event will take place at Kimpton’s Hotel Allegro from 2-4PM on Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, 2012.

 

A professional photographer will be on hand to snap shots of furry friends with Santa in Hotel Allegro’s Living Room Lobby, which will be outfitted with festive décor, music, hot chocolate and cookiesWater bowls and pet-friendly treats will also be provided to make sure every guest in attendance is soaking up the holiday spirit. While dogs seem to delight in Santa Paws the most, Kimpton’s Santa Paws is an inclusive and diverse event, welcoming all pets as long as they can fit through the front door.

 

This year’s festivities will feature a raffle with plenty of prizes, including hotel and restaurant gift certificates. All raffle proceeds will benefit Chicago’s Anti-Cruelty Society. The Anti-Cruelty Society will also bring several shelter dogs to participate in the holiday fun and find a potential new home just in time for the holidays – all shelter dogs will be available for adoption.

Chicago Loop Alliance’s (CLA) fourth annual Winter WonderLoop will surprise and delight pedestrians in downtown Chicago this winter with “Random Acts of Holidays” from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 23, and each Saturday from Dec. 1-22, 2012. Specific details on these free, spontaneous, family-friendly experiences around the Loop will be announced each morning at WinterWonderLoop.com, and on CLA’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. Holiday revelers can also visit the Winter WonderLoop website for more than 100 special offers, events, promotions and destination ideas from CLA member businesses and organizations from Nov. 23 to Dec. 31, 2012. Several of the best offers are highlighted at the end of this release.

Visitors in the Loop will encounter “Random Acts of Holidays” that include: street performances from Goodman Theatre and Joffrey Ballet; giveaways of hot beverages, pastries and prizes fromCorner Bakery; free pop-up photo booths, complete with props, from SmileBooth; strolling carolers and bands from local colleges and high schools; and Berghoff Restaurant mascot “Herman the German” giving away custom steins, ornaments and treats.

Along with these events, special offers and promotions, Winter WonderLoop gets pedestrians into the holiday spirit with seasonal displays and decorations, including CLA’s unique year-round light and sound installation Lightscape: a Multisensory Experience on State Street—which will provide a special treat this year as socialite Candace Jordan wishes passersby happy holidays.
