New Modern Mexican Dishes in River North 

Cantina Laredo, featuring modern Mexican cuisine River North, recently launched new lunch, dinner and brunch menus. Chef de Cuisine Kennon Reed’s new dishes include: Tacos de Costillas (slow-roasted short rib with tomatillo sauce, monterey jack cheese, roasted red peppers and queso fresco); Pollo Mango Mole (grilled chicken with mango mole sauce and toasted pine nuts); Costillas con Fajita (ribs basted in Jose Cuervo tequila barbecue sauce with beef and chicken fajitas); Tacos de Hongos (grilled portobello mushrooms in balsamic glaze with goat cheese, roasted red pepper and queso fresco; and Torta de Costillas (griddle baked sandwich with slow-roasted short rib, apple-jicama slaw, jalapenos and black beans).

Cantina Laredo’s bar menu offers unique specialty cocktails prepared with hand-squeezed ingredients, including Seasonal Sorbet Rum ‘Ritas (Blood Orange; Mango CitrusRaspberry Chipotle), Signature Margaritas (Casa Rita; Cabo Flip; Ginger Mint Mango), Mojitos, Palomas and more. An extensive tequila list, Mexican beers and worldly wines are also available.

Cantina Laredo is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner is served nightly from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sundaythrough Thursday, and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Weekend brunch is offered Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  All brunch entrees include a mimosa, Bloody Maria or non-alcoholic beverage. Cantina Laredo’s small plates lounge menu (second floor) is featured at half-price, Monday-Friday from 4-7 p.m.

Keep Your Resolutions with Lower Calorie Libations

Cantina Laredo has unveiled new low-cal cocktails for the new year. The modern Mexican restaurant and lounge now offers three ways to imbibe while watching your waistline. Each drink, 140 calories or less, is served with a “flip” of liquor on top ($10 each).
The low calorie cocktails include:
Caliente Flaca Flip (135 calories) Hornitos Plata Tequila and triple sec with fresh lime juice, orange and jalapeño, topped with club soda and a jalapeño flip of Domaine de Canton Ginger LiqueurCitrus Burst Flaca Flip (130 calories) Hornitos Plata Tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice and orange, topped with club soda and a lemon flip of SKYY Citrus Vodka

Peach Berry Flaca Flip (140 calories) Hornitos Plata Tequila and fresh lime juice with peach and triple sec, topped with club soda and a strawberry flip of DeKuyper Strawberry Pucker

Cantina Laredo’s cocktails are available daily for lunch, dinner, brunch and lounging with libations.  The restaurant’s hours are: Sunday through Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m.
