January Events

Forbidden Root is thrilled to be accepted into West Town, however, their physical space is still undergoing construction.  In anticipation, they are hosting several events around town until their new brewpub digs in West Town are ready!

 

  • Thursday 1. 8.15: Beer & food pairing at Bar Takito starting at 6pm – 201 North Morgan Street
  • Thursday 1.15.15: Pizza Rustica Tasting & Pairing from 6-8pm – 3908 North Sheridan Road, Chicago, IL 60613
  • Tuesday 1.19.15: Forbidden Root, in collaboration with Geja’s Café, will be hosting our first fondue & beer dinner – 340 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614.  This will be a ticketed event.  Details can be found on our website at: http://forbiddenroot.com/events

This January and February, diners are invited to enjoy the eighth annual Chicago Restaurant Week, with over 250 participating restaurants throughout the city. Restaurants will offer special prix-fixe meals including lunch, dinner or both, depending on the restaurant’s preference. Restaurant Week At Frontier Chicago

WHEN:  Friday, January 30 – Thursday, February 12

  • Executive Chef Brian Jupiter
  • Dinner only: $33 prix fixe

Raised in New Orleans, Chef Jupiter has always believed that the Southern comfort style of cooking is a true art form, and he refers back to many recipes derived from closely held family secrets. Through his eclectic recipes, Chef Jupiter strives to elevate the status of “soul food” and Cajun/Creole cooking to the level of more widely recognized cuisines.
