CHICAGO, IL (November 26, 2013) – The West Town Chamber of Commerce and Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce are urging big chain holiday shoppers to refocus attention on the small businesses in one of the most charming retailer corridors, West Division Street in Wicker Park. On December 7th & 8th between 11 am and 6 pm, Division between Ashland and Leavitt is transforming into Do-Division Holiday, a neighborhood “festival-like” atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the city or suburbs this holiday season (division.com/do/holiday). The free event invites holiday shoppers to take time this season to shop small while also having fun. The Build-a-Snowman event is the family centerpiece of weekend activities (new details included herein), which also include free “jolly trolleys,” exclusive sales, charity-tie ins, complimentary drinks and food, caroling and much more.
Renegade Craft Fair
The Chicago Holiday Market is always an especially festive affair: a design and DIY spectacular in one of Chicago’s most charming venues. Attendees are encouraged to take part in free craft workshops, hosted by Martha Stewart Living and RX Made. The Pulaski Park Fieldhouse will be decked out with festive installations from Amanda Walters and zerobird studio. Visitors are invited to take a photo to commemorate their indie shopping experience in the free photo booth provided by Magnolia Photo Booth Co. Local DJs from Dusty Groove and Reckless Records will be playing all our favorite music to keep the atmosphere lively all weekend long.
