ZED451 will hold a complimentary “meet the winemakers” tasting event in the gorgeous glass wine room on Wednesday, February 1. From 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., winemakers Greg Gauthier, proprietor of Gauthier Select Vineyards, and Michael Richmond, general manager of Bouchaine Vineyards, will meet and mingle with guests. The featured wines for the evening will be Gauthier’s Sauvignon Blanc and Bouchaine’s Pinot Noir. Paired cheeses will also be presented with each pour. The sounds of acoustic songs by Chris Buehrle will fill the air in the adjacent Fireside Lounge from 7-9 p.m.

WHO: Panera Bread delivery team will be surprising chilled Chicagoans in need of a warm pick-me-up with hot drinks and baked goods. Chicagoland residents will have a chance to suggest stops for each Warm Up Wednesday in February.

WHAT:

During the month of February our delivery teams will be making their way through the Chicagoland area to surprise deserving residents with a warm treat from Panera. Our online locals will help steer teams in the direction of residents in need of warmth at www.facebook.com/panerabread.

Chocolate Stout, Strawberry Lambic and the “Champagne” of Beers

No Valentine this year? No problem! Spend this February 14 at Franklin Tap, where beer is everyone’s true love. In honor of all things traditionally enjoyed on Cupid’s day (champagne, chocolate and strawberries), Franklin Tap will offer four Valentine’s Day beer specials sure to get your heart pumping.

The “Beer Is My Valentine” specials include $3 Miller Highlife (the “champagne” of beers), $4 Young’s Double Chocolate Stout and $5 Timmermans Strawberry Lambic. For something truly unique, try Lisa Selman’s “Chocolate Covered Strawberries” drink – a pint of Timmermans Strawberry Lambic floated with Young’s Double Chocolate Stout for $5.

Executive Chef Tim Dowling’s full menu will be available from 11 a.m. to midnight. Franklin Tap offers an array of appetizers, soups, sandwiches, wraps, paninis and entrees.
