When: Wednesday, July 17 at 5 p.m.

Just in time for Belgian Independence Day (July 21, 1831), loop located tavern Franklin Tap will celebrate Belgium brews, specifically those by Duvel. On Wednesday, July 17 from 5-7 p.m., Duvel Moortgat USA representative Tom Gardener will be on hand to pour beer samples and discuss what it takes to create the essential Belgian beer.

Duvel Single drafts ($7) and Duvel bottles ($9) will be highlighted, and guests that purchase Duvel will receive keepsake, painted glassware created by Brooklyn artist Mike Perry (while supplies last – photo included below).

Duvel defined the category Strong Golden Ale when it was first brewed in the 1920s. Combining the rich aromas and flavors of an ale with the smooth, refreshing drinkability of a lager, Duvel is a blonde bombshell of a beer that bridges the gap between taste and refreshment.

Duvel’s curvaceous glass and white pillowy head quickly proved irresistible to drinkers around the globe, and by 1990, Duvel was being exported to over 40 nations. Today, Duvel is regarded as one of the world’s best beers and is the shining golden star of imported Belgian specialty beers in America.
